Team performance 

is conceptualized as a multilevel process (and not a product) arising as team members engage in managing their individual- and team-level taskwork and teamwork  processes (Kozlowski & Klein, 2000).

In simply team is two or more people work together to achieve a common goal. Teamwork can be decided as the actions where those groups works together to achieve objectives.

distinguishable set of two people or more who dynamically, interdependently and adaptively interact toward a valued objective/mission/goal, which have been assigned each to perform a particular function or role with a limited life-span of membership (Mathieu et al, 2000).

"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their hard work. For if one of them should fall, the other one can raise his partner up. But how will it be with just the one who falls when there is not another to raise him up?" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, KJV). This statement clearly defined that team is best part of an organization to skilled up others and to get high output from what other members are doing in their job roll.

Here are the identified four specific areas where have big influence team work as below. To have best team performance below points may influence on all kind of employees.

Building a team is not easy

In first level forming is discussing about where team members meet very first time and may having few disagreements since not knowing each other and giving first impression to colleagues. This stage is vital to learn how to work with other members with excitement of who are they.

In second stage of storming there can be arguments while they trying to settle within the team and different cultural aspects.in this stage it begins to arise individual immerge of doing things and the cycle will move to the down side by decreasing effectiveness.to overcome this challenge all participants should accept the different capabilities and variations of each member.

Norming is the stage team members get to accept by each other and starting to identify the roles and leadership qualities and capabilities. This stage the curve will goes up by slightly increasing the effectiveness of the team.

Last stage the where the starts to perform themselves by having well organized structure towards to achieve their common goal.

Employee performance

Employee performance may affect by all where office working environment, communication methods, virtual team management, stress levels, work hours etc. If we able to manage all above mentioned features of performance at first instate it will be a reason to upgrade the team work again as well. Thus, it is a circle where teamwork and performance level are effect on both sides.

Teamwork and the performance level two main important functions where we run a business  as well as it comes as an important input of teamwork and output of high-performance levels.

Performance is one of the key factors that needs to measure and maintain to achieving goals of the organization. confirms this by including the phrase ‘carrying out’ in its definition of performance: ‘The accomplishment, execution, carrying out, working out of anything ordered or undertaken.’ High performance results from appropriate behavior, especially discretionary behavior, and the effective use of the required knowledge, skills and competencies(The Oxford English Dictionary).


Boost to productivity 

It is important to boost and keep the motivation while in such critical and tough situations. After the work load is over organization should motivate team members to get new trainings and enhance their skills.

Leading  researchers  in  the  field  of  work  organization;  Katzenbach  and  smith  (1993)  are convinced that people working in team function more efficiently, are less prone to stress, and such  individuals  make  greater  effort  in their  work.  Such individuals  are  less prone to  stress because tasks or problems of the organization is broken down thereby reducing the workload on an individual  (Boakye, 2015).

Strong decision making 

Having good understand on what the team have to do for the organization will make members to work straightforward towards their goals. Having various ideas and thinking patterns within the team will help organization to get better decisions as final output from entire team. since the team has passed the norming period they are accepting all kind of ideas and choose better one to implement by understanding.

Organizations which have good and effective teams with skillful team member who understand each other will have fast growth and high out put from their performance level.
So that all organization should consider  teams as a thing which make high impact on organizational performance.

  1. Very important topic in the current era. Its always team work makes dream work. It is very important to build a team with people who are with same mentality. One person who doesn't agree of the majority could kill the idea or the purpose of the team. Hence, before forming a team there are stages such as forming, storming norming, performing and adjourning.
